i've had the new wavepoint 4xt5 for about....a month now.

will i notice a difference in growth if i change out my bulbs??? i feel like AT LEAST two of them are worthless for corals. (the two 700 bulbs or whatever they are). should i be using super actinic or actinic 03 bulbs??

how about the coral accell by giesman or the wavepoint version(cheaper but hte same thing i've been told)

or should iwait until i need new bulbs, since it won't change much.

Anything blue is worthless for corals, it's more for us. It makes the colors more appealing to our eyes. 6500k spectrum would get you great growth, but everything would look brown.

I personally liked ATI bulbs when I ran T5's.

okay so if i want half growth half look i should go with........superactinics over actinics...and then.....two 6500's???

are super day 12k's worthless then?? that's what came with it. two sunwave (12k) and two actinic 03 460nm's.

what 4 bulb setup would you do??

2 blue bulbs would likely not be enough to overcome the color of 2 6500k bulbs.

Ideally on a 4-bulb fixture you'd have 2 actinics, one daylight at 6500-7000k, and one 10-12k bulb. I used ATI Blue+ for the actinics, an ATI Aquablue Special for the 12k, and an ATI Procolor for the daylight bulb. Looked good to my eyes, but lighting is very subjective.

hmmm. if i can't find that at our sponsors what giesemens would you use??? and thanks for the help!

No idea on that. I ordered mine online before I found this site and before I joined the club.

sponsors feel free to chime in if you have ATI bulbs in stock for a 36" fixture! :p

I can get Geisemann, ATI, Korallen-Zuct...

The "right" combination depends on whom you speak to.
