I decided to update my lighting. I have a 93 gallon tank, 24 inches deep and 30 across. I had a 2x150 watt MH on it. After reading some of the posts here I decided to upgrade. Since 30 inches is a funky config without a canopy, I added 6 24 watt HO T5's to the tank in addition to the 300 watt MH. I got a little jumpy and purchased a 346 watt MH (250) T5's combo to replace the 6 T5's.
The question is am i better off with the current config of 6X24 watt T5's and 2X150 MH (400 watts) or 1x250, 4X24 watt T5's and 2X150 MH's (646 watts)? I know the 646 watts will drive the heat and electric bill, but I want it to be right.
I've read enough to know that it is not all about watts. I have a clam (looks great under T5) 6 nems, leather coral, frogspawn, monti, sun coral (i know) and sponge.
What do ya'll think?
