Hey guys I am hoping to upgrade the lights on my 5.5 gallon and was hoping for some input. I am looking at rapidleds par 38, boostleds par30, and orpheks par 30 and I was wondering if anyone had experience with any of these.

I have a 5w LEd bulb. Almost like those but not the name brand. It did great over my 10 gallon tank. Kepy Easy SPS

You don't think the others would be to much do you? The rapidled for instance has 17w of power.

For a 5.5 if you have it about 10 " id think it be fine. But doing SPS in a Pica may be hard as the water Quality would be hard to keep stable

Yes I mostly wanna do zoas, palys, and mushroom with a few LPS down the road.

I would do a cheaper bulb like the one i have. its for sale also. 25.00 It grew stuff great. Pm me if you want. I also have a build thread with the bulb being shown

You should check out the GU10 LED lights.

The GU10's would be great, I'd do 2 Blue 1 white and a full set up would be cheaper than a par 38.

There is a current post (

i really like the look of the rapidled par38, granted i've only seen it over my tank for about 5 minutes. the pictures make it look a lot more blue but i think the color is perfect.
