I’m moving my Kessil A80 lights to cover a 20g long and need something for my 40B. I’m curious on thoughts about T5 vs LED. I was originally leaning towards LED, but I like the simplicity of T5 plug and play. Any thoughts you can give are appreciated.
40B is mostly soft corals with a Duncan and Frogspawn currently. I’d like to add more LPS eventually.

Check out the Orphek 3’ OR3. A couple of those would do fine on a 40 breeder. LED with T5 coverage and no replacing bulbs every 10 months.

T5’s will work great for your application, provide the most uniform light spread, but have the disadvantages of bulb replacements. If you go with them, try to get into a staggered bulb change pattern, to provide more uniform intensity & less bang on your wallet all at once.

Thanks, I’m only looking at a 4 bulb for now. It shouldn’t be too bad on the wallet. I’ll look into the OR3s too
