Looking to purchase a new moonlight system on my 90. It currently has these Mickey Mouse Xmas lights looking thing it came with. I don't want to spend a fortune but would like some descent lights. What y'all got to sell or recommend. Thanx

Rapid led has a moonlight kit for 90 gallon tanks. They are really easy to put together a fun little project

Do you want them to change with the moon cycle or just blue lights that are on at night?

Just put Ina little light at night so I can see inhabitants .

I have them in my canopy I think it come with the power converter and 4 LEDs for under 30 bucks. I got 2 sets so I put 8 LEDs on my 75 4 in front evenly spaces and 4 across the back. They look really good

Go to frys and get a led strip for computers for about $7 and a power supply for about $10 and some connections. Mine are too bright so I electrical taped every other led to block out that light til I got the brightness I liked. You could get 2 for your 90 but 1 for my 60 is enough. Two strip would only need 1 power supply.

I looked at it. Says you need a heat sink?? Did you get one or just attach the LED's to the inside of your canopy

I had some angle aluminum that I attached them to the. Painted the metal white to prevent corrosion and reflect the light better.

Are those in the "led" section or with the computer cases?

I find mine in the case section. I have used two types, the 12" "tube" of leds and the small "box" with 1 led but it shines out 5 holes. Both were ok but on my tank now is the strip. You can also pay a bit more and get a flex strip that is seld adhesive but they are like $20+.

This is what I use, except in blue: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812551002">http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812551002</a>

You could also go with something like this: [IMG]http://www.xoxide.com/flexiglow-pclazerbeamled-kitultraviolet.html">http://www.xoxide.com/flexiglow-pclazerbeamled-kitultraviolet.html</a>

I have also tried these in blue and they worked well and are smaller: [IMG]http://www.frys.com/product/6738695;jsessionid=WMs5b6Z7MVxXI67nX0KXsg__.node2?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG">http://www.frys.com/product/6738695;jsessionid=WMs5b6Z7MVxXI67nX0KXsg__.node2?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG</a>

Remember you are also going to need some sort of power supply that you convert the pins over on to fit the lights.

Sorry You can also go with this: http://www.frys.com/product/6502353?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG">http://www.frys.com/product/6502353?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG</a>

Or if you wanted to get fancy you can change colors with this: [IMG]http://www.frys.com/product/7931760">http://www.frys.com/product/7931760</a>

The last 2 are expandable (Which they all are "expandable") and it looks like the last 2 might save you on some wiring since it already has DC connectors as well as Molex.

I have basically the same set up as Afdanw but I got the ones that you can control the color and how bright they are. I think i have 40 bucks in the whole set up
