lion fish hasn't eaten in 3 months and is still alive!

how is this possible? my ex lion fish was eating normal (a piece of shrimp every other day), and then he stopped eating. He didn't eat for a month before i broke my tank down.

i ended up giving the lion fish to rit. it's in his store, and it won't eat. it's been in there for at least two months.

so that's a total of 3 months of not eating. how is he still alive?
