Any thoughts on either of these pumps. I have been looking at the reeflo barracuda but this little giant came up at a good price. Not sure which way to go.

From what I remember about the little giant pumps, they are pressure rated pumps, so they'll have much less gph ratings than the barracuda. The barracuda pushes 4300 gph and can push about 15-20 ft I think (with reduced flow).

Concerning quality and noise, the Reeflo is the better pump. The Baldo pump is phenomenal and quiet.

I think it depends on the application. Is it a return or closed loop application?
Like Raj said the Baldor motor is a bullet proof motor, They are used on professional power tools like Powermatic table saws and etc. Some of their 3 phase motors have run 20 plus years without failure!!

Also in fairness little giant produces some top of the line pumps as well but their aquarium line is not their best line. I think they are still good pumps.

This will be used as a return pump. With the high gph I will probably plumb it for the fuge also.
