Live Rock

To much would cause a lot of dead spots and tons of nooks for food and waste to be trapped.

Though biologically I don't think so.

Agreed. In most circumstances the more live rock the better... it is going to increase your filtration capacity and will help decrease nitrates.

As Nassar said, a ton of live rock in the display will create dead spots in the tank where there is no flow. IF you are going to go with a heavy LR display, try to aquascape the tank is such a way that you are getting good circulation throughout the tank.
