Hello everyone,

I’m thinking about adding an AI Nero 5 to my 75-gallon mixed reef to get more random flow patterns without too much extra bulk in the tank. For those of you who have been running a Nero 5 for a year or more, how has it held up? I’m particularly interested in how quiet it is compared to other popular pumps like the Ecotech MP40 or even budget-friendly options like the Jebao OW series. Does the flow pattern keep both SPS and LPS happy in a mixed reef? Any reliability issues or maintenance quirks I should know about before pulling the trigger? Appreciate your insights and real-world experiences.

Been running a Nero 5 on an SPS Dominant since 2021, on 90% pulse. I clean it maybe every 2 - 3 months. The only issue I've had is some smaller snails' shells getting sucked into the back and being stuck, but that only happens with bumble bees and ceriths. I'm sure there's some 3D printed cover that can prevent this, but it doesn't happen a lot. Maybe once or twice a year and I just pull them out with a tong or so.

Oh, and as far as noise goes compared to Ecotech MPs, it's about the same ime. I have to place my ear a few inches from them to even hear them. (Before my MP40 busted lol)
