Any reccomendation? It seems like my carbon doesn't last as long as I had hoped for. Maybe I am expecting to much. I use a container of seachem every 2 weeks.

I use the BRS cheap stuff, small size. Rinse it good and its the best bag for the buck.

I bought a 52.5 lb bag for $45 it fills a 5 gallon bucket. Been using it for almost a year.

Your expecting to much, carbon really only last that long. If the underlying goal is to save money then cheaper carbon is the only option. I for one stomach the cost and go Seachem all the way.

It's not about the money really. It's the annoyance of having to change it.

Is purigen an option?... I Have never ran carbon in a reef, what are you trying to accomplish from your original post?

I need a recommendation of a carbon or anything that will last a bit longer than the carbon I am using. I use carbon to reduce the yellowing of my water.

Give chemipure elite grande a shot. Just toss it in your sump. Continue running your regular carbon as well.

Get a properly sized Emperor UV. You won't have yellow water issues with one in action.
