Longnose Hawk Fish in QT

I recently acquired a Longnose Hawkfish and have him in my QT, the only issue is that I can seem to get him to eat anything. He's nibbled at mysis, but spits it out as soon as he grabs it. I've tried pellets and flakes as well as Rod's.

He seems very healthy and actually will dart to the surface when I add food like he's ready to suck it all down but shys away once the food hits the water.

Any suggestions or do you think he'll come around when he's hungry enough. It's been 4 days. Is it possible he's getting what he wants the little he's eating?

Dumb question...but have you tried garlic with the mysis?

I suggest love food also. I had one and it seemed to enjoy live food more than the frozen or dry food.

Live black worms, nutramar OVO or even freshwater clams from the seafood section of your grocer.

I'm finding that pretty much EVERYTHING (including my Mandarin) loves the FW clams.

Success!!!!! I had a little bit of Ocean Caviar left over and tried that. He took to it slowly, but now he's eating like a PIGnose HOGfish!
