Hi folks, I was told that I can get an aiptasia eater peppermint shrimp from Liveaquaria (http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=497+525+3190&pcatid=3190">http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=497+525+3190&pcatid=3190</a>) and that should take care of my Aiptasia problem. I got two and they instantly became breakfast meal for my tangs. The issue was they were way too small and I doubt they could even bite my monster aiptasias.

So now I am looking to borrow or buy a grown peppermint shrimp that is known to eat these aiptasias. I'd appreciate if you let me know if you know any place I can get these or IM me if you have one and willing to sell/lend/trade....

For the lager aptasia you are better off using AptasiaX in my opinion.

Check out an LFS near you. The ones I've bought from Marine Designs and Reefs2Go were pretty big.

Does lager aptasia afflict your beer??

No it is the other way around. Consume enough and you no longer see the aptasia. :)

I've effectively used these guys to get rid of aptasia for a while now.. the trick was to buy ENOUGH of them that some of them would eat the stuff... I put 7 in my 120 at once

"Peppermint shrimp" is a common name used for several different species. Typically the shrimp from a certain locale do best. Come in, and we can discuss it. ANd, PS- we carry them too. :)
