Anyone know of a shop that stocks these? really interested in this build.

You might want to look at a Deep Blue Professional tank. Here is their product catalog:

Look on the fifth page down that says "Frag Tanks." I own two of their rimless 34 gallon Reef Ready tanks, 24" x 24" x 12". Don't know if 12" deep is shallow enough for you, but I bought mine at Aviarium. I think Imagine Ocean, Pure Reef and SEA stock them as well, but any Sponsor should be able to order in your choice. There are other Deep Blue Professional shallow tank sizes as well, just look at the catalog.

Thanks, I will go by those stores tomorrow. If one of them works, I will let them know you referred me :)

These rimless tanks you can view from the top, gorgeous, I am getting back into the hobby and right at a point where I have a big chunk of change to drop on it.

Mine are mostly unused, and function as temporary holding tanks like fish jail, or a QT, or similar. But they would make nice lookdown tanks.

Yeah, I am looking for a bigger one, 75 gallon or so, What I would like is 48x48x16 or 36x36x16 someplace in there.

A 48x48x16 would be a custom build, probably. Not many off the shelf ones that size.

Oh I am open I think, I just want to get something cycling now so I can move into it in the next month or so.

I just ordered one of those Deep Blue frag tanks from Pure Reef. Loved the dimensions of it.

I took your suggestion and went by Imagine Ocean. I found a 24x24 shallow rimless that is just a bit smaller than my "vision" but otherwise perfect. I bought the whole set except the lights.

Then went by optimum and purchased a vortech power head, and an ecotech radion xr30w for lighting. I transfered the tank last night. I will probably do a thread on this tank at some point. I will post a quick picture.

Edit: please don't mind the rediculously crooked lights, I am fixing that today, and I am going to level it a little bit more today as well.

Thanks Jenn, I am going to have to go to home depot to get a pipe and extend the outlet pipe on the reef octopus as it is submerged and I am fairly certain that is causing it to just over flow like crazy. other than that, a couple pipe fitment issues, but overall really happy with the new tank.

I meant to mention that. Usually it's just a matter of raising the skimmer up a bit - the chamber in that sump keeps the water level a bit too high. We use a heat gun to bend a piece of eggcrate into a little stand for it. Just raise it up an inch or two and that solves the problem.

Jenn

I extended that pipe over the water level, but its been days now and has yet to stop just dumping water into the cup.
