I am looking to see if someone could loan me a chiller for a few days.

I am having an issue with the A/C in my home and the temperature in my tank is getting close to hitting 84 degrees. I am worried that if this continues to go on too long that I will lose my fish and corals.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am located in Alpharetta.

Currently I am using Ice in bags to try and keep the temperature down, but I am going away for the weekend and I have a bad feeling that this wont be rectified by then.

Thanks!

turn on the fan and run water over the coils of the unit, not down in it just over the coils

Your talking about the main A/C unit?

That wont help me long term as I am going away this weekend.

While home keeping ice bags in the sump works fine, it's just that I wont be able to maintain that.

I did 6 fans on 3 tanks and bought 2 window units, saved 4-5000 in fish and corals

Ah, gotcha, as of now I am sitting at 82 due to the ice. I'm really more worried about what's going to happen over the weekend if the a/c isn't resolved.

Yea, I have two fans on it now as well. If I can't borrow a chiller I will look into getting a couple of A/C units, or maybe just invest in a chiller as I would expect the costs to be comparable.

Money is the issue....

A/C units versus a 1/3 hp chiller is comparable....A/C people come tomorrow. My worry is that they will need a part....compressor is my guess. That will take days to get and fix.

I guess we will see if someone has one as a "loaner" for the time being.

Thanks.

I have a free standing ac unit that you can borrow..It has a hose that sits in a window seal with like a drier tube...Works decent...Lemme know

Heart felt thanks to everyone. I truly appreciate everyone's advice and offers. This truly is a great club and due to the overwhelming responses offering assitance I will certainly be a full member shortly. Hopefully I will be able to meet some of you at an upcoming club event.

For a quick update, I was able to restore the A/C due to trouble shooting help provided by one of the members. I was able to locate a broken neutral wire going to the compressor. Afte a quick run to HD, I was able to reconnect the wire and I now have cold air. Larry thanks again for leading the way...our discussion got the wheels turning. :You_Rock_Emoticon:

Tank is currently sitting at 78 and I can start pulling fans out of the way, though I may just leave them there while on my trip.

Everyone, thanks again.:thumbs::thanks:
