Looking for the best skimmer

I've been researching a lot trying to find the best skimmer for a big build I'm putting together. I'm in between the SRO 8000 and the vertex alpha 300. Based on what I have read there both great skimmers but I can't find any real reviews or personal experiences with these skimmers. Any suggestions or comments would be helpful. Thanks

Look into Avast Marine. You have to put it together yourself but you end up with a lot of skimmer for the money. Mine works great, but I've never used another skimmer so I can't really compare it.

MRC Pro Series. Ever see Oz's tank before he moved? He rocked the casbah with the Pro III. Best big Arco dominant tank I'd ever seen.

No I have only seen pictures of oz tank from the forum. Thanks for the replies I'm going to look into these other skimmers.

IMO if you're looking for the "best" skimmer then the race isn't between anything SRO or Vertex makes. Now, given, I haven't owned these particular 2, but I feel there are better skimmers with better pumps that are made better.

Reef or fish only?
Can you do an external or internal only?
