Looking for the best Tank Controller

Extra outlet modules (EB8's)? They connect through the Aquabus with standard USB-type cables. You can use up to 200' feet of cable... so no problems in any reasonable installation.

NOTE: Do NOT plug an Aquabus module into a USB port (even though the cables are the same). USB is 5v; Aquabus uses 12v. If you do you'll end up letting all the smoke out of something and it won't work anymore. :D

You running profilux?

That sounds like what I need the Apex sounds like the unit
That I should go for. What extra options would I need to buy
Other than extra outlets..

It depends on what you want to do with it. What equipment do you intend to control?

I just looked up proFilux. Wow that is a crazy unit. If I go above
500 in the future then maybe I would go for a unit of that cost.
Looks like a great unit I like the additional display you can
Buy that is touch screen my problem is if I bought one of those
I would have to buy all the xtras. That means. The touch screen
Would be almost as much as the apex. I am looking at having
750 in the apex with extra plugins.

Edit: I want to control
Lights, pumps, ato, skimmer,heaters,chiller,reactors, fan,mp40s.
I am not going to have an auto water change system

With what you listed, you are pretty much by default going to go Apex over Reefkeeper. The Apex has a Vortech module... the Reefkeeper does not (and even though there have been rumors, a DA employee said on their forums that they are "not working on it").

I'm doing everything you listed less the ATO with an Apex, extra EB8, and WXM module (for the Vortechs). My ATO is independent, but for that you'd either need to buy or build a Breakout Box. It's an easy enough DIY, but Neptune sells them also.

Thanks for the good info. Yes I have a Tunze ato and forgot
I will prob. Install a uv. I see you can buy upgrade probs. is there
Any use in this or do they tend to last longer???
