Losing the battle to bubble algae

dude im about to banish my emerald in to the fuge. He is 3.5-4 inches tip to tip and he is HUNGRY.

If you want him, I'll give him to you. He is just so hungry all the time and im running out of algae in my 200 gal.

im not going to alpharetta again lol. But he is yours if you want to meet up sometime. This guy is a beast. I bought him when he was this little thing, and never saw him for months.... then out he comes like the hulk just going buck wild.

btw how is the elegance?

I have usually have great luck with emerald crabs, even other mithrax besides the greens. I recently got a few more for the tank. One was a big one and it proceeded to ignore the algae and start eating several snails and hermits a day. I easily got him out with a net. Wasnt afraid of anything. His hole had about 10 shells in it. The smaller ones eat a ton of BA. That was one problem crab out of about 40 I have bought in the past. I will always try to get smaller ones from now on though.

this is my experience.

they are fine until they become huge. Then they just start a party in your tank grabbing hippo tangs, gobies, corals, shrimp, etc. Almost makes me want to get a puffer or mantis shrimp.....

almost....
