lowering salt level

my salinity usually stays around 24-25 but lately it has crept up to 26 a couple times, ive had to put in some plain ol' RO water to lower the level back down to normal. Doing that makes my PH drop, so i have to mix some buffer in with the RO, and keep getting it tested until its in range. Anyone know of a better way to lower my salinity without the PH issue? Im sure this is probably a dumb question, but i never had this problem back in the day when i use to keep SW tanks.

Best way is to set up an ATO(automatic top off) then u wont have any swings.

Draw some water from your tank out and replace it with R/O water. That's the only way to lower it that I know of. A little pH movement here and there won't hurt your tank as long as it's not a big drop.

if its a fish only tank the ph swing will not bother them to much i evap almost 2 gal a day in my coral tank to help keep from ph swings i usuly add it back 32oz at a time and wait 30min to a hr before adding more but a Salinity of 26 is only 1.019 sg wich is to low even for fish only will keap there metabolic system low so they perduse more fatvs musle weakens there swim blaters and keaps there stress levels high my reef is set betwen 1.028~1.030sg 38~40.2sl and fish 1.024~1.026sg 32.5~35sl natrul seawater in 80% of the world is 34sl and places like the red sea are 40.2

In that case, your fine dude. 0.026 is nothing. Mines go from 0.023-0.026 all the time and I have no ill affects.
