About 3 months ago,my torch coral, stung my birds-nest and killed it.Two days ago one of my chalice was touching one of my monti cap.Not your basic green, red or purple.A really nice one.Its starting to turn white.Should i go ahead and try to break it off or will it kill it anyway.I didnt even know they sting. You can rest asure, all my lps are going outside. Its warm enough for them.

My frogspawn and hammer decimates my HS chalice. They will hit my monti as well but not nearly as bad as the chalice.

I put my torch coral in the back of tank on the bottom where it can not hurt nothing. My frogspawn, got two big softball size that just keep the sps coals from growing into them. But this crazy chalice, got my sps good.

This is the monster.

Edit: That is the monti that it stung in the back ground

Iv had some corals receive nasty stings as well , you may have a chance to save the monti if you cut the affected area off but montipora in general have very low defense to other coral so it may still die.
A single little stick of acro fell on my Jedi mind trick and in about 3 or 4 seconds killed a 1/8" spot , it slimmed up immediately and the tissue just fell off.
It has began to repair the burn finally after a month.
Good luck

Ill even give you a nice frag of green w/ purple rim monti if you want to replace the one that was stung.

but as I said, all corals desire to spread, kill anything around it, and take over, some are better at it then others. but thats the goal of all of them, they don't play nice, they don't get along. they take over.
Andy,I'm sorry,I keep forgetting that most of you folks don't know my sense of humor.I would never,I love-em all.

Humor is a hard thing to convey on the internet. I only said that because some people actually would take a perfectly healthy coral and toss it in the yard to die. My offer stands though, if you wanna get rid of the chalice, let me know.
Thanks,Ya,My Bad.If i can ever get to a meeting your at.I will break a nice frag off. That chalice grows super fast under t5s.Very hardy as well.

Well, even after cutting the white part off, its still turning white. That chalice bites bad.:wow2:
