Good morning folks. Well, I woke up to my worst nightmare. Heard a sound from the tank and thought it was the ATO pump. Instead, it was my main pump whining in about 1.5 inches of water. Fortunately, my tank stand has a liner and the water was not all over the floor. After turning off the main pump (a Blue Line) and pumping out the water, the main pump is now locked...will not make a sound when I turn it on. I tried to take the pump out without success.

I need help from someone who knows plumbing and pumps. I am willing to pay for the work.

Thanks in advance for your help.

IU_Gary has one for sale,
I am in Florida and far - but anyone willing to help could get the replacement from him quickly.

I have a brand new Blue Line Model 55...do you think I could replace it with that?

it is 1100 gph vs. 1750. In a 140 gallon with an inline chiller, do you think that will make any appreciable difference?

Folks:

Thanks for all the offers for help. And thanks for the advice LilRobb. I was able to remove the pump and put in the new one. Because it was smaller, I had to do some re-plumbing, but it looks like I have it handled.

In retrospect, this was not a worse nightmare scenario...that would be a leak in the display. But it was a helluva way to start the morning. But as usual, the Atlanta Reef Club community came through with flying colors. This place is as good as it gets.
