Majano wand for me to borrow

Does anyone in metro Atlanta have a Majano Wand I could use to get rid of some red and green Christmas Majano pests that got introduced a while ago and have multiplied to the point that I MUST get rid of them. Willing to give you some frags for use of the wand. I am willing to come to you and pick up and bring it back.

I use lemon juice and needle syrenge works great. Never hurd of Majano Wand, what is it?

These guys are WAY tougher than aptaisia. I've done the Joe's juice, aptasia-x, etc., etc. And they just keep multiplying.

I keep an aptasia eating filefish (Acreichthys tomentosus) in each of my reef tanks. They eat mojanos as well as aptasia. Usually about $25 or so at ARC Sponsors that carry them. Cleaned out my 300 of mojanos, and don't bother other corals.

I've thought about getting one of those. They are cool looking fish, to boot! But what happens when they clear out the aptasia?

Mine loves frozen mysis shrimp and enriched brine shrimp. He will not eat pest anemones yet(I know I feed to much), he is going into another tank that has a lot of pest anemones and I will cut back on feeding. And Hope!

Do the majano wands work well?

Yes - they work well as long as you can stick the needle into the pest but no one told the pest to grow in places you can go straight down to get them, you can't get to some like under a ledge or at the base of a coral. I still use Kalk paste for some of them.:roll:

I've Been spot feeding one aptaisia after starving my shrimp with hopes they will eventually learn to eat the apyasia as well but no luck yet

Thanks for the use of the Majano Wand. I will take some before and after pics to show how effective this tool is (hopefully it will be effective).
Enjoyed seeing your impressive setup. I wish I could have a seperate aquarium for each coral or fish species I want to keep, like you do. One tank is all I have time for let alone 10+! WOW.

So I picked up the Majano Wand from Holley this afternoon and when I got homeI started my removal project. As you can see by the first few pics, I had 75-100 bright green and red Majano's (pretty Christmas colors, but still multiply like crazy and sting other corals). After about an hour of working on them 1 by 1 the tank looks alot better. While I was discentegrating these bright colorful pests with the wand, my purple tang joined in and ate the melting Majano pieces as they floated away.


Here are the pics AFTER I removed 90%+ of them. I will have a few more treatments over the next days or weeks to make sure they are all gone, but what a difference:yay::yay:


Thanks again Holley for sharing your Magical Majano Wand with a fellow reefer.
Side note, these Majanos are thicker skins and are on the rock surface, not buried like the translucent, thin glass anemones that retract into the rock crevices as soon as you touch them, so these were easier (in a way) to puncture and eradicate than the others.

I have a mere *1* piece of aiptasia in my tank, in the back. I tried to stick it with lemon juice but it came right back. For those who use Kalk Paste, how do you do it? Does it not wash away by the time you get it to the pest?
