I now have definitive proof of manmade global warming, at least on a micro scale. I’m thinking that if I can jump on Al Gore’s band wagon I may be able to make at least enough to set up another tank, lol.
Proof… I get up Saturday morning and my bedroom is a brisk 58 degrees. Seems that the furnace crapped out sometime Friday. I checked the tank and the temp was down to 68 degrees. Wasn’t too worried about it, just kicked up the heater a bit. So after 4 hours of tearing the furnace apart I finally fix it by replacing the battery in the thermostat. Yea, don't I feel pretty dumb!
Fast-forward to last night. Wife gets me out of bed at 11:30 and tells me the tank looks like crap; everything is deflated, shriveled up, the frogspawn looks like it's melting, etc. And oh by the way, the temp looks to be 90 degrees +
I open the hood and start dumping ice in it trying to cool it down; check the heaters, etc, etc. Only thing I can figure is I installed a second 400w MH over it last Saturday. I watched the temps Sunday to make sure it wasn’t heading north. I didn’t check it last night until she got me up.
I checked on things this morning before I left for work; things were looking a little better. Temp was back down to 78. Hopefully my nem weathered a rough couple of days with no ill effects. Guess I'll wait till later see if there's any problems with my sticks.
