Making a change

did you customize your array??? if so can you talk a bit about what you did??

Thank you. I plan on moving up as the corals allow it. I plan on moving up the blue side 5-10 percent per week and the white side no more than 3-5 percent a week. The white is very powerful. Right now I have them both maxing at 40 percent and I do not think that I will have to go too much higher especially in the white.

I went with the standard layout. Logan seemed very confident in the research and testing that they had done so I figured I would be better off that way than me just guessing.

They are very nice fixtures.

I really like mine too. The colors of the corals are pretty amazing but taking pictures is impossible for me. lol I've got mine maxed at 30.

What percentage do you run yours? Right now I am 40/40 and I am amazed at how strong the white side of the spectrum is.

Wow im impressed! Looks like im in for a photon 48 in the near future.

Edit: Do you think one would be big enough for a 60" tank?

Thank you. I wish the light rack would have worked better but it works fine this way. Just not as clean looking as I would like for it to be.

I think if it is elevated high enough it would be okay. Email Logan and he will be honest with you. They are very nice lights and I know it is only one day but I am very pleased.

I should have said earlier that I have a single 32 over my 90 so not quite the same.
But they're maxed at 30/30.
There's definitely a pink/purple hue which I think looks really cool. The lights only been on for about a week so I have no idea about growth or anything but nobody's turned white or brown yet. lol

Do you know the spectrum of the whites you are running?? Cool white and/or warm white??
I'm assuming the majority are ~450nm royal blue, and then they have some 480nm royal blue, maybe 3 660nm Red per fixture, and some 420nm Violets?

Reefbreeders uses a 4500k neutral white in the Photon series. Here's the layout

It will be interesting to follow your progress because my experience with LED's wasn't a pleasant one ( MAXspect Razor )

I looked at those in the past but they were not strong enough (IMO) for SPS.

Im not sure you would know the answer but figure i would ask anyways. I have a 120 long reef tank. The dimensions are 60" x 18" x 24". Is the Photon 48 big enough to cover the tank?

Hey Curtis, if you email Logan or even call him, he will tell you exactly what you'll need and even which optics to go with. I have spoken to him a few times and found him to incredibly helpful with picking the right fixture out...

I actually just did that and already got a reply. He said it wi be fine with 90 optics at 10". The only problem is they will not have any ready till mid Feb at the earliest!

It'll be worth the wait...I have one of the photon series and really like it. Its affordable and really well built. His customer service is amazing as well, which really means a lot to me.
