Making a rail for a LED light

Ok, I have this idea for the light I have. I don't really want to hang it, I want to mount it on legs above the tank. However there isn't any place to mount legs, I need it to sit approximately 7-8 inches above the surface of the water. Now I saw a rail system which mounts kinda like a sunpod, but I know it won't fit this particular light.

Anyone have any suggestions?
