Are these light any good to grow coral in I have 2 and need some input on what people think about them.

My wife uses them for her freshwater planted tank. Surprisingly, they deliver enough light, up to 2 feet deep, to grow 'rigorous' plants. However, they are generally not regarded very well for keeping coral.

you could probably grow softies and some low light lps but i wouldnt trust them with anything else

I have softies that's it I bought a zoa and its dying out

Edit: Would like to add more but don't know what I can add

You can always add new lights :)

But in all seriousness, anything that it can sustain will need to be right up at the top of the tank. Make the best use of its low output.

I use two of the Reef Capable lights on my 20 gallon and 11.4 gallon. Everything so far has been ok. But then again it's only been a week, haha.

I also did a modification on both of them. I eliminated the switch and added a new power input so that I could control the moonlights and the daylights with timers.

Well I've been using these lights since I started and its been 2 months now It seems fine but I'm un a sure of it

It seems to be working in my tank but a 2 months I really don't know what the out come would be later. I have softies too in my tank

I have a pretty large head of zoas and about 8-9 mushrooms that do just fine under the LEDs. I also use a stunner strip...just for looks really. The LEDs sometimes make the corals look a little bit on the brown side, but with the stunner strip they look much better.

I read a write up in a magazine and he said he put some acros on the highest part of his rock work and they did okay.
