I am thinking about getting a pair of GSMs and I have a couple of questions about their potential aggressiveness.

Are the gold stripes less aggressive than their white stripe cousins?
Are the tank raised ones less aggressive than wild ones?
If I have a pair of tank-raised GSMs with a bubble tip anemone am I in for trouble (e.g., moving stuff and aggressiveness)?

I believe the wild caught are more aggressive than the tank raised. I do not know about them being more aggressive than the white striped maroons. I do know they are some of the more aggressive of the clownfish family. Also I have read that the tank raised don't always pair with an anemone like the wild caught do. Or at least takes them a lot longer to get the idea to pair with the BTA.

pretty fish but, very agressive. At the store they pair up easy with the BTA's But they are knuckle biters

GSM have perpetual PMS.... they will bite and attack any other type of clowns tat come into sight... Expect to get nipped when ur hand goes in to move stuff.

I have a mated pair. The large female is very much the PMS queen. I do not need sand sifters I have her. As for the small male anytime I'm working in the tank he will hide and then all of a sudden will charge and nip at my hands.

The bottom of my tank stays in a mess with both of them moving stuff around and pushing sand up in lage mounds. I knock them down and they rebuild them. It's almost turned into a game. If I move and don't glue it down they will push it over. It doesn't matter the size. If one can't push it over they team up and do it.

Both of mine are very nice looking and both have paired with my seabae and did so with in half a day of the seabea entering the tank. Great looking fish just feisty.

I've got several pairs and I don't find the GSMs to be that different than the others. Any clown when it becomes mature and starts to breed will rearrange whatever it deems. I've had percs and os harass tankmates to the point i had to remove the others for their safety.
I'm not sure if the whites are different than the golds. And a BTA can reek havoc w/o a pair of fish!
what size tank and tankmates etc?

I also have a pair in my 95 gallon tank. Mine have never nipped my hand and are hosting in a RTBA. In fact when I had my female in my QT, it used to eat flake food right from my hand. Maybe I got lucky for some reason.

Oh and she's a good 2" now.
