MaxSpect or AI...What to do?

So I have 2 Sol Blues ordered, and after talking to the ARC sponsor that I ordered through, they are willing to let me change my order to the MaxSpect Mazarro's.

My question is, after reading the specs on the new MS lights, and also seeing that the mount kit may go better with my rimless tank, as well as easier than a hanging kit in my apartment, what would you do? Controlling the lights with an Apex is a cool feature of the AI's but I do not yet own an Apex, and both lights come with a controller anyways, so I kind of think that is a smaller factor than others.

Thoughts?

OK so now it looks like another 3 weeks before the dealer gets in their AI's...they may have the maxspect weeks before.

Call reef geek, they seem to be getting them in faster than most. They've gotten two shipments in while aquarium speciality was still waiting on there first. I finally gave up, but reef geek did match the discount. Not sure if they will do that for everybody since I'm buying other stuff.

I'd go with the AI's personally. I was hesitant to get into the LED market, but AI really seems to have their act together in regards to a quality setup.

I also wouldn't let "controlling by Apex" be a limiting factor. I have the apex and have no desire to buy the VDM to replace the stock controller which is fantastic.

The Maxspect look very promising and a lot more versatile than the AI. BUT, I would wait until the second batch arrives. As Barry said, let others be the guinea pigs on the first "pre-order" batch of Maxspect fixtures and then jump from there.
