So of course my tank swap took about 3 times the amount of time I thought it would! I was up until after 2am just trying to get everything to where it could survive the night.
As I was draining, moving, pulling rock and fish, I completely lost my melanurus wrasse! The water was down to 3 inches on a 25H tank, so I thought it hard to believe he could have jumped (though I saw him get close more than once). Exhausted, I just chalked it up to him jumping and maybe my dogs got him. Hence, the "mystery".
I woke up this morning and begin to clean up the old tank for sale. At this point the water was all the way down to the sand level, MAYBE 2-3 gallons. The VERY FIRST scoop of sand with my dustpan and that little sucker jumped right up! I quickly grabbed my net, scooped him up and dropped him in the 180. Right now he's chillin out exploring his new digs.
