Mh bulb placement

I just got new MH bulbs for my tank. Instructions says to align bulb in 45 degrees of horizontal. I didn't pay attention to the placement of the old bulbs when I pulled them out. I assume this means that the bulbs wide side should not face the water directly, but be placed up and down in the fixture, correct? Forgive me ignorance. Translate this into english for me.

I am confused. Are you asking how the bulb should be placed in the reflector or how the whole reflector should be placed? And second is it a HQI bulb or mogul?
