ok this is what the wife said i can do. lol i found a 3x 250w mh with 4 t5ho 4 led moonlight 72inches long . for 664.00 for my 231gallon tank.comes with 4 t5 atinic bulbs and 3 15k mh bulbs . thiss huold be great unit till i can get the money for a custom build in a year or so right what do you guys and gals think. the custom iss going to cost around 1100.00 and my corals cant wait that long. my ? is will thiss unit be great till then. here isa pic. im also going to put it in a hood with 4 fans . any feedback welcomed tks .

Also I've heard some bad storys in past of these ebay type units catching on fire ?May be some others will chime in and give their option.I just giving my option .thanks

tks i want the maristar but i realy dont have the extra money . ill see if he can work with me though. it sucks but when the wife got retired unexpectantly it put a halt to my lighting dreams lol. so im trying to get the best i can aford. you are right though his light is far superior but if i cant aford it its mute point lol.

i dont want to be a cheap sob but life has a way of beating you down for awhile. but ill be up again lol. i just want as good as i can get for my fish and corals as i can offord right now. i could wait but at the loss of some of my corals. i have everything but my spotlght on the top of my tank right now to get them to survive he he. was doing good but 2 of my t5 ho units went down lol.

i was but my wifes insurance droped and mine didnt pic up till next mounth so i had to pay out of pocket for my daughters meds at 1600.00 a month wow and thats the generic stuff lol.lifes trying to kick my butt right now but i will not go down easy lol.

So you are getting the Maristar? If so that's awsome.. One of the biggest mistake one can make is buying substandared light fixtures, then upgrading later.. I've done it.. Twice, LOL.
I bought a half decent light for my 180 (72") then I sold it later and bought some retro stuff.. Reflectors were iffy, and was still using the smae ballast off the older crappier light.. It was "meh" at best..
I went to pick up some new bulbs.. Should have been about $150 for the 2 bulbs. Ended spending about $610 to replace the reflectors with nice ones, the money for the bulbs and another 150 for a new ballast.. Hind sight is always 20/20..looking back I had wasted close to a grand on crap lighting.. Buy it right the first time and save some bread!

yea i think im going to be very pleased with the meristar i like it a lot cant wait to get it on my tank. lol i wanted to go se but the meristar is de but i think that will be just fine they have 20 k in it now should i go 14k phenix later when its time to replace as i want my corals to get good growth.what you think.
