so after months of waiting we finally closed on our house and the tank is up and running....and i have a ton of micro bubbles. is this a result of a brand new skimmer and will it settle down on its own or are there some adjustments that i can make to calm everything down?

90gal tank
eshopps 200 sump (does have bubble trap/sponge after the skimmer)
mag 9.5 (my external pump just wouldnt fit the stand)
2 mp40w on reefcrest
reef dynamics (euroreef) in-180 skimmer (rated for 300gallons)

are the microbubbles in the sump, you can use a flashlight in the dark to help you see them. If not, it is possible there is air getting into your return line

about a day now. i would say they definitely are a result of the skimmer but i wasn't sure if it was something that would work itself out as it breaks in or if there's something proactive i need to do

its got new skimmer syndrome. just give it a chance to break in and you will be fine.

I have a couple models up from the euroreef 180. After shutting mine down for cleaning, it tends to do this. I found taking the air line tubbing of the discharge pipe for a couple seconds and putting it back on stops the micro bubbles. I have noticed when the bubbles are present that the water volume in the ps is higher. After removing and re-installing that the level goes back to normal.

If I move it around too much they come back but now that it's starting to break in, as long as I leave it alone they cleared up for me

Sweet! I just cleared up my mcrio bubble problem for the most part to, different issues but it does feel nice
