my midas blenny is eating regularly but he is looking thin is this common i had a friend who had one that did the same thing and died any suggestions

mysis shrimp and prime rref flakes.he looks real thin but is active

Will he eat pellets? Try the nls small ones. Up the feeding to twice a day if you haven't already

i have some i will try that he eats well just seems to be getting thin

Up the feedings and small water changes more often to make up for the added polution

How long have you had it? You said it is eating regularly, does it eat a lot? How often are you feeding? If it is eating a lot already but getting thin it may have a worm parasite and would need to be treated. I think Prazipro is the treatment of choice for that but you may want to do some research.

im feeding once a day and he is always the first to attack the food ive had it about 6 months.

If you go to the ARC search box and put in keywords of "parasite worm" or "prazipro" and hit search it will come up with a lot of threads that could be applicable. If it is a worm, I'm not sure how to know this for sure, but if the fish is getting thinner even though it is eating well it would seem to indicate that. Prazipro is a reef safe medication that has been recommended in the past that may be the route to go. Read some of the threads and hopefully someone else with more experience will chime in.

Another way to treat, is with Metronidazole and Focus, in the food. That puts the medicine into the fish, into the gut where the intestinal worms are.

I'd do either/or, but not both.

Prazipro is very good also.
