So I'm looking for the next addition to my tank and can't decide between a Midas Blenny or a Canary Blenny. What are the behaviors of these fish? I love the perching behavior of the blennies but read somewhere that the Canary blenny tends to just swim around the tank. Also, I am aware that the Canary blenny has venemous fangs but after a quick google search I only found one story of someone who was bit so I'm not too worried about this. This fish will be going into a 34 gallon mixed reef with peaceful tankmates.

I love my midas blenny, he is in a 39 gallon with two clowns and a coral beauty! He perches some of the time and he hides in a barnacle cluster some of the time and he knows when its feeding time because he starts swimming like crazy around the tank! I would recommend the midas, I have no experience with the canary. Make sure you have some type of lid on the tank because mine has tried to jump several times! Hope this helps!

Thanks for the quick replies! I've got a Red Sea so no worries about him going carpet surfing. It seems like the Midas is a great fish and it would be nice to not have to worry about getting bitten (no matter how small the chances). I'm excited as I've never owned a blenny before, always gone for gobies in the past.

Thanks for the help!
