millions of micro bubbles

i think i fixed most of my problems
i put polyester fiber fill in by intake tubes and foam pad in the baffle before the return
should i go with a deep sand bed in the refuge
or 1" sand bed with rock

never thought of doing filter floss like that, cant imagine it being good long term, but then again the stuff is rediculously cheap.when yhou get done, it should be nice!

If you would of put the three baffles on the right side like, the left side then you probably wouldn't have as many micro bubbles. The three baffles are really only needed on the right side near the pump, the left side near the intake would be fine with a single baffle. As for the over flow.. try going with a smaller "u" shaped tube. And if the smaller tube does not do anything to help then you might want to look into getting a little bit bigger pump..

I have had all the same problems before

I Strongly Recommend you(mr.crabs) getting the following books.

i originally had the baffles that way but it was worse so i turned it around

You are going to have lots of little bubbles. The rock has air in it, the sand bed has air in it, and their are little crivaces in the piping and pumps that have air in them. It just takes time for that all to settle.
