I just purchased a calcium reactor and was wondering what ph monitor to order. The milwaukee ph monitor or a reef keeper. I have a reef keeper on my 120 and love it. Will they both do the same with the reactor? Thanks

I assume regarding the Milwaukee you mean a controller? MI makes a pH monitor, and they make a monitor/controller, the SMS122, that turns the CO2 on/off based on pH. You can use the SMS 122 or the reefkeeper to control your reactor. Personally, since you already have a Reefkeeper, I would buy an SL1 module and pH probe and use that for the reactor.

I'd get another Apex or Reefkeeper if your budget allows. The SMS122 only does one thing, and for another $80-$85 over the cost of an SMS 122 you can get this that will control your reactor and three other things, etc:

Both will get the job done.
A couple of things to consider,
If you have a reefkeeper lite you have a limited number modules. With an elite this isn't an issue.
How difficult will it be to wire the reefkeeper to the frag tank?

I have an apex and use a SMS 122 to run my reactor. When I started I had a RKL and couldn't add the extra module. It has worked fine so I decided not to change when I upgraded. If it ever fails I will add a module to my apex to simplify things.

I'm with Dave. If you don't have a controller for the frag tank this is a great option.

I agree with going with the reef keeper. As Dave mentioned, or a few extra bucks, it will control your reactor along with three other things. You can always use the sl1 to control your reactor along as adding an ato to it. Then you can add your heater/chiller and lights. I have a reef keeper lite with an sl1 that runs my heater, chiller and ato. If you were to buy the ph controller alone and the ato alone, it would cost just as much as the reef keeper with sl1.
