min height of a reef octopus 200 skimmer

does anyone knoe the optimal water level for this skimmer to work most efficiently?

i'm pretty sure all the reef octopus skimmers work best in 7"-8" of water

thats what I thought. I'm am building a new sump and was going to make the skimmer section 9" just wanted to know if this would work for me.

if you have the height you could always raise the skimmer on a platform.

I have plenty of height the sump is 21" tall
