Agree. That's a chunk of change but I'd find a way to make it work. But I won't be the first on that bandwagon! Anyone with early adopter kind of money around? :thumbs:

Man that thing looks really cool. I wonder why they don't include PO4 or did I miss something.

it said that they have more on the way including PO4..looks very neat and would be awesome to have if the foils are a reasonable price.

That will be the main thing about that unit, I think. How much are the discs, how often do you have to replace them, and how accurate are they?

Great tool for anyone that likes a constant stream of information regarding tank parameters, like those that like to micromanage phosphate and nitrate levels. You could make adjustments and see changes in real time on a device. The monitor displaying graphic records of the parameter is another great feature.

If you are talking a $600 purchase price and $200+ dollars a year in operating expenses for the replacement discs, then I'd be out. I can buy a lot of test kits for that much.

But if it works, it would be a useful gadget for anyone that wants to spend their reefing dollars on one, as long as it is accurate. Kind of like whether you buy an expensive coral or fish. At that price point, only the individual can decide if it is worth it to them or not.

For the amount of testing I do besides specific gravity, which is not too often, once every 3 months or so for Ca, Mag, and KH, the Thrive Water Analysis Machine the Fish Store is supposed to get is a better option, at least from a financial POV.

I always wanted to try the thrive system but there are none near chattanooga.ill probably try the one at the fish store at some point.

Looks pretty interesting, at $600 it's out of my price range so I will just have to live vicariously through others.
Besides if I got this, what would I do with all the spare time it saved from testing? I'd fritter it away tweaking things in the tank causing live rock-a-lanches and frag making;-)

I wonder if it will end up like the the Thrive Water Station, something that sounds really cool and have a bunch of potential but just hasn't materialized yet. I know it's just a matter of time. I followed the thread the a sponsor posted and there was one at MACNA, but does a LFS in Atlanta have one yet?

As of 10/14/13 the Fish Store had not received a ship date for the Thrive Water Lab, per their thread, but I'm sure they are as anxious to get one as anyone else.
