Mini Crash. Help needed.

Thanks Eric. It may be getting close to time but I am pretty sure that isn't the case. I understand that it may not show phosphates in the tank water if algae was consuming it but the TDS reads 0 and I have no algae issues at all. I believe the phosphate I am seeing are from the food I have been feeding.

phosphates (if you typed correctly) should be at 0.03 or less. If the test kit is "close enough" accurate, then you are 10 times what it should be. trates at 5 is pretty high for sps....or at least at their upper level of survival.

alk is on the high side as well.

Yup that was a typo. It is 0.03.

Had my water tested today but someone I trust as much if not more than anyone. It amazes me how far off they can be one to the other.

The results below are listed with the LFS first and mine second. All LFS were with Sea Chem test.

Sal. 1.026 / 1.026
Am 0
Nitrite 0 / 0 - Sea Chem
Nitrate 5 / 5 - Sea Chem
PH 8.2
Alk 5 meg/l / 5 meg/l Red Sea Pro
Phos 0.3
Cal 375 / 460 Red Sea Pro
Mag 1250 / 1700 Elos

I am at a loss. Going to just ride it out and see what happens.

Rich,
Your alkalinity is 14 dKH. That is high. Depending on how long your tank has been at that level, it could be the root of your issue.

I am used to dKH so I probably typed that wrong. Per Jenn, I am within acceptable range. My test using Red Sea was right at 8 dKh. I converted and most likely did it wrong.
