so i had one emerald crab recently that died because of a clooged pump that wreacked havoc on my little reef...i thought id give another one a chance and picked up up cheap at petco last week...it was medium sized it seemed when i got it and the first night it just sat on the uppermost rock in the tank and never moved...the next 2 nights it didnt move either and i thought either it was molting or dying
the thirday day i noticed its shell on the floor of the reef and then i saw the crab....im not sure how its possible but it looks 2 times the size it was in the shell..its crazy...i call him king kong because his favortie spot is on the uppermost rock in the tank...he will feed and always go back to that one spot....he never hides like the last one
also he has almost single handedly in a few days helpd rid my tank of the cyano bacteria on the top of the sand...today he perched himself under my duncan coral and u can literally see a circle where he just walked around the stalk and ate...he also cleared up all the hair algae on my new acan frag...i love this little guy....lets hope he stays away from my coral
