Mixing Tangs - Looking for Advice

I have a 190 with a Red Sea Sailfin, an Atlantic Sailfin and a yellow Tang. They are all 3 to 5". I'm thinking about picking up a Med/Lg Hippo Tang. Are the others going to kill it?

You never know, every fish is different. I have used pics of the fish I'm introducing taped to the glass with no lights for a day or two. If it gets real bad, I have a concave mirror that quiets everybody up trying to figure out who the new guy is that looks like me but bigger...haha.

one good rule I've always gone with is try to keep the same body styles/shapes away in smaller tanks, although a friend of mine with a 300g has the most XL angels, tangs, and butterflies I've ever seen in one tank and they all get along fine...

Generally (GENERALLY) they are OK if they have enough room AND you don't mix two of the same genus. I'd expect the Regal to be fine, but might expect the two sailfins or the yellow to be an issue when they get larger, since they are all Zebrasoma fishes.

Like in most of nature the aggression from fish is more over food in a territory more than the actual territory IMO. That said I keep plenty of nori (most of the day) for my tangs to graze, no absolute proof here but with plenty of it I see little if any aggression from my tangs. I think the Hippo will be fine.

This always works for me and I have about 10 tangs in a 300.

All the above advise is very consistent with Tang success. I have many warnings myself from the Tang Police.

Stocking order is a consideration as well. The inherently more agressive tangs should be stocked last.
I have a Yellow, Naso, PB and a Regal in my 175. The PB is large and the latest addition. I added the Regal a month or so ago. She is only a couple of inches long. The Naso and Yellow never gave here a second look.
