GENERALLY speaking these kind of biowheels are no no's in salt aquaria.

That being said, you may be talking about something different.

Ok do I just got my hob filters in the mail but have a problem they won't fit over the sides of the tank. The lip on the inside of the trim is in the way can we cut that out a Lil so they will fit?

Boy thats fun! I'd suggest returning them if you can. If you can't, then bring out the dremel and plastic welder (aka ground down soldering pen). You'll have to extend the hang part but make sure when you re fabricate it that you will not see a failure down the road causing the filter to separate and fall. But I'd really suggest returning them and getting properly sized ones for your tank.

Yeah I'm not doing anything lol. I'll have it done, it looks like you can't mod the filter it's self so the tanks the only op. it will only be 1/8-1/4 cut and it will be may e 4" long What we will be cutting doesn't look lilt it's needed other then to set the glass tops on??

Edit: As for returning then. The only way We can do that is if they are broke and there not and they work fine so we can't do that
