If you feed a morish idol enough, say 3 X on a daily basis does that lower the chances of it eating coral? I know that they are already difficult to get them to eat and can stop out of the blue.

Sometimes yes and sometimes no. some fish pick to eat, but some fish pick for boredom for a better lack of word.

Honestly, after having one for a few years now, if he wants the coral, he will go eat it regardless. Id just focus on getting them to eat regularly and accept the fact that you cant keep some corals if you want one. In my case, he eats anyting with a bubble tissue ie acans, bubble corals, brains, etc so i just keep zoas and sps and im ok with that. Def make sure they are eating in the store and be aware they are quite aggressive as well. Let me know if you have any more questions.

If you keep any "semi reef safe" fish full, it will be less likely to eat coral... but once they develop a taste for something, it's probably going to go after it from then on. The exact same reason I moved all of my zoas and acans to my wife's tank... my Idol ate acans like they were candy, but only like certain color zoas... some were never touched. Go figure.

To be safe I moved all of the zoas and acans... it was worth it for the fish.
