I'm about to move my tank for the first time. I am moving a few miles down the road. Just wondering if anyone had a checklist or a preferred method of moving a tank. Any tips of advice will be appreciated.
Use plenty of 5 gallon buckets and put your corals and prized possessions in them with tank water. May need to use portable aerators to keep your fish going.
AugustaSalty hit the nail on the head. I just moved fom GA to TX and lost nothing out of my reef. I've got over 50 corals and some are big. I moved 100% of my water and no sand. If you move your sand make sure you clean it with filtered water...hose water will saturate sand with crap IMO.
How did the move go? I am getting ready to have to do something similar as well, but it will be moving a new tank to my house. Any advice or lessons learned from your experience?

There is a ton of stuff that settles in the sand and sand is NOT necessary to a tank so dont rush putting it back in. Past that use the steps above and you should be good to go.
