MP40w ES UPGRADE *sponsors*?

Id rather buy from a sponsor than someone out in Cali.

1) any sponsors carry the ES upgrade to the MP40w?

2) can you ship it to me in NE AL?

You cannot buy the upgrade thru e-tailers or LFS. It has to be purchased at the EcoTech parts store. At least that was the way it was last time I looked into buying one myself.

A month ago I tried to by the 40w to 40wES upgrade from TBAquatics, and they cancelled my order and told me it was only available thru the Ecotech parts store. This may have changed since then.

I know marine depot has them .. or at least advertises them...

Guess I'll just go with ecotech.

Haha... I'm sure you will!

I've got two MP40s (only one is ES), but love em! I'll be adding my MP20 to the mix real soon.

(Love them even more now that I've got the WXM module for my Apex )

You will love them.

Ecotech has a current promotion going on: For every MP40w ES you buy until 9/30, you can get a 50% rebate on the cost of buying an MP40w to MP40w ES upgrade. But this is for upgrades purchsed thru the Ecotech store.

Yeah... its a schweet deal, but given the fact that you'd pay ~$420 for the pump and then $50 for the upgrade... I couldnt justify the added expense when I could buy a MP40ES for $364. To each his/her own though!

went with ONLY the upgrade.. that will give me 2 40w es pumps. I COULD have gotten the other mp40w es, but figured I'd wait till my next frag sell to justify most of it

Nice... two is still plenty of flow in a 120. I bet you have other powerheads you can use for added turbulence... and your return. I've only got a closed loop that runs four times a day, my return and two MP40s running at the moment and it works just fine.

Ya i already have 2 mp40s on the tank.. I just want to have more flow.. i have what i would consider an adolescent sps tank.. not quite full grown.. but enough sps to warrant lots of flow.

You need a back mounted pump to use the EcoSmart Modes to their full potential, but two is great for a 120.

keep encouraging me.. I'm REALLLY close to just buying another one haha.

When I buy equipment I tend to buy for the NEXT tank The skimmer is already in place... 1 more 40w would get my flow in shape I suppose.

MP40wES pumps come up on Reef Central's FS section regularly. I saw a good number of them when I was looking for a denitrator.

But in reality, two are great for your tank. I have 4 on my 300 and they mover the wasser. You may end up throttling them down some with three. As my acropora colonies get larger and larger, I will probably add two more (one more on L and R side) if I need to.

This is really the type thing that you'd probably use and like if you got the third, but don't necessarily NEED right now.
