I've had this baby for 6 months. I think its time I hooked it up
(ok...Ive been busy. Ready to dedicate some time to the tank again.</em>)

This is an MRC CR4 Dual reactor. I have everything I need but the feed pump.

I DO know that I want a dedicated pump rather that gravity feed or tee off my existing return pump. I think the MRC site recomends a Mag 2???
That seems too big. Course I have no idea what im doing. It just seems like if I am getting just a drip drip drip coming out...i would not be able to have a 200gph pump.

Any suggestions?

You can use a Hammerhead - there is a valve in the effluent line that tunes the drips. a mag2-5 sounds right...

Hmm...eduacate me on this. I must be missing something.
Again if the end result is drips...then how can I feed that much water to the reactor.
Looks like it would either blow it apart or burn the pump out

nah,

the chamber is pressurized from the feed pump (helps dissolve the CO2), your pump won't burn out from that backpressure, and if the reactor falls apart - that would be a new one too.
You want to feed more (volume wise) that you let drip out, creates a nice overpressure inside...

Sweet!
Thanks Robb.

Off to market.

Nope. The Hammerhead is a medium pressure pump and will blow the calcium reactor apart.

You want pressure, but not much. All you need is a constant "push" of water into the reactor. A mag2 equivalent will work just fine.
