Thanks! I litterally have been working with the bare minimum as far as equipment go. I have no sump, no real filtration, an intank skimmer that sucks and a plethera of powerheads. I have had awesome success with it. :) I need to get some better pics up.

whats the "overflow box" in the left side of some of the pictures? (clearly not an overflow, since it's so low in the tank)

just curious..

tank looks really good !!
(I had to get rid of my spiny urchin because in a DAY it ate all the coralline off one of my pieces of live rock)

Those are subcurrent in tank filters. All I am running in these bad boys is filter floss :) I cant wait to have more room for a sump and a bigger skimmer :)

lol maybe I should look into an urchin... I have coraline growing everywhere!!!!

wow... looked at the picture again... it was the anemone that I saw/confused...

subcurrent in tank filters...

I've never even seen those.. where'd you get them? how do they work?

Yeah tube nems are awesome. They are "filter" feeders and dont need any light. They also GLOW in acintic lighting, there are dots running up and down the tenticles. The best part is they never move from where you put them!

They are Current USA Subcurrent filters. I got them at a lfs they are for tanks under 40 gallons. I have two in there, both are in-tank. essentially the water flows through a grid in the top,f lows through media you choose (bioballs and carbon come with it). Then there is a pump in the bottom and that pushes the water out through the return tubes. Simple and effective for nanos.

Like I said it is a basic setup. But, with water changes and dosing I have pristine water quality. :) I am happy with it. Just proves you dont have to have all the gadgets and gizmos to have a nice tank.

What type of lighting are you using to keep clams? I've always heard that there hard to keep.

Thanks everyone :) I need a new pic update.

The clams are under a 250W metal halide. Specifically a Hamilton Belize with a 20K ushio bulb and two giesman* T5's
Im baking them with light. :) Most maximas thrive under higher light. But croceas an squamosas do okay with T5 :) Clams are super easy to keep when they are over 3 inches, have enough calcium, and given enough light.

These bad boys are 5-6 inches long.
