Tank is a 40 gal breeder 4 40t5 ho 20gal rubbermaid sump and an old skimmer. Going to get flack for this. I have no test kits just add distilled waterfor top off. I did one 10gal water change right after cycle about 11months ago. I no people think i am nuts for running my tank this way but it works for me.

No flack from this end.. If it works for you, it works for me!

There isn't 1 set way to run a tank. Each system is different and needs different things.
Its chugging right along for ya.. If its not broke, don't fix it.

Get some more pics up thought!! We need a full tank shot!

No flack here either. I used to run my old 55 gallon similarly when I got into the hobby and had decent results. Nice to see different ways of running our home reefs and as long as you enjoy the hobby and take care of your inhabitants you are good to go!

I have had reef tanks for over 25 yrs I have found less is way more. Its harder here in Georgia than it was in Florida I had a 90 reef for 12 yrs that i keep the same way and it was awsome. Had to start over after moving to ga. So went smaller.

here is a bad fts

Yep thats a window right behind the tank. No problems with heat and the cpl hrs of real sun the corals seem to love it.

I think we should give him heat just so he feels at home :)

Keep on keeping on..!!
