I purchased 50 periwinkle and 100 nassarius snails on eBay from originalfrog. I paid $22.27 shipped to my door. He actually sent me 59 periwinkle and 119 nassarius. I wanna say I only lost a couple of each and I am very happy with my purchase. Just figured I would share. Happy Reefing!

Edit: I have pictures but i can't upload them from my phone

That's impressive. I apparently got ripped off on my clean up crew. Congrats on the good find!

Here you go

Keep us updated on how long the Periwinkles last in your tank as they are usually cold water snails. Our tanks maybe too warm for their liking.

They are semi-terrestrial and you may find them wondering outside of your tank.
I used them in my Discus Planted tanks and had to replace every 3-4 months, but they did a great job cleaning the tank and plants, as long as they stayed in the glass box.

Anybody else have any experience with these Periwinkle Snails in their reef tanks???

Might wanna split the order up some if someone wants to. Will have to think about it later. </span></span>

i need a good cuc! but i think what he has to offer is a little to much for the 32 cube... maybe could stick in there until the 90 is done.

Periwinkles are a PITB though simply because they will crawl out of the tank and get under furniture etc. Watch for this.....and possibly smell for it. He is likely collecting them from the NC coast so they are intertidal, and used to cooler water temps....maybe not......but if it the guy in NC that I am thinking about.....then he is. Not trying to rain on anything here, just offering hopefully helpful advice. They will eat some algae though. I've seen hundreds of them on one rock near the ocean and they cleaned it down pretty good.

Nassarius are the bomb though. One of my favorite detrivores.

how many is too many for the 75? is 100 too many as in about 2 to 3 weeks I'll be going to a 120. also what about the sump?

All my perrywinkles are out in my canopy, I cant find a single one in the tank:mad2:

When I saw periwinkles on Sapelo Island off the coast of Georgia, none of them were in the water. They hung out in moist grassy areas where there was about 2-3 inches of water covering the soil, but I think I remember them all being on the grass. I have a feeling they don't like to be underwater for extended periods of time.

That is what I was trying to say.

Just make sure they cannot get all the way out and under furniture. They will start to make their presence there known in a very bad....smelly.....way!
