I'd get rid of both of them. Both are near impossible to control, IME.

I have GSP which I am keeping for now and it encroaches on my plating monti all the time. It's really not too hard to scrape off, though it will grow back from any chunks left behind. If you get all the pieces it will have to regrow from the sections you may wish to keep.

Last month scraped off a bunch of GPS that was too near my acan. After the scraping, used toothbrush rinsed it and covered the area with krazy glue gel and a week later I chipped the glue off and the rock is a clean as a clean rock. And so far, no little gpssss coming back. Bubba

my dilema is that my gsp is on a base rock, any good ways to scrape it while its in the tank?

will it grow up and kill the whole sps, or just the base? :huh:

It'll overgrow the entire piece. It doesn't know coral from rock, it will just grow and expand over the entire surface.

If you're going to grow GSP, BCP or Xenia, IMHO the only ways to do it are to either have a tank DEDICATED to that (which is pretty cool actually) or to have a section of rock completely isolated from all other rock.

I'm pressing my luck with BCP and GSP on a single rock that is an island. I figured I'd watch them battle it out but so far they are pretty stunted in growth.

I use toothpicks and pick it outta the cracks. It does regrow quickly though.

its funny, this patch didn't grow at all for like 9 months, than in the last few weeks, its just flourished. I guess I'll just remove the sps, and find it a new home and let the gsp have that rock. lol
