So today is a week sense I started cycling my 10gallon nano and I'm getting a fair amount of algae growth. I'm only using the lights for a few hours a day.is this going to go away on it own?

You will go through a period of diatom bloom. As aggregating as it is it will clear itself up

Agreed 100% with Mike
Infact diatom bloom is the last faze of the cycle but expect it to get worse before its doen .
Once its stopped spreading all over toss in a few turbo snails the big ones , thell eat it up and once its all goen and clean you can rehome the snails because thell starve in that small of a tank . Then you should be ready to add your first few pieces of live stock .
Good looking nano

I just tested all my parameters and every thing came out fine. Its only been a week though? So I'm a little confused.

It took my 55 gallon almost a month to cycle.

Was it base rock or live rock , the live rock greatly speeds up the process.
I'd say give it more time , no use rushing it , but atleast your getting there.

I used 8 lbs of base rock and 3 lbs of live rock.yea I'm not in a hurry to put anything in as I can't make up my mind if I want to put zoas or a mated pair of clowns in first.

I have a fairly similar setup and light kit on my 20g. I had 16lbs of base and 6lbs of live. It took my tank ~2.5wks to cycle.

When my diatom bloom occurred, I had a CUC of mostly dwarf ceriths. They took care of it pretty quickly. A very effective snail, but they are over populating my tank now. I have Astrea Turbo's now also. I can't tell you which is more effective, but the Turbo's look much better.
